Short description
Targeted refurbishment of the ground‑floor frontage and entries to convert part of an existing building into an Orthodox bookstore: replacement of curtain‑wall glazing, upgraded plinth cladding, new glass canopies, discreet signage, and a stone‑clad side entrance, all aligned with the existing paving grid and adjacent retail fronts.

Concept
A light‑touch modernization that preserves the sober modernist envelope while improving legibility, durability, and accessibility. All insertions follow the existing structural rhythm and do not alter the original massing.
Materials and palette
— Curtain‑wall frames: powder‑coated aluminum, graphite/anthracite; neutral, low‑e glazing.
— Plinth: large‑format slabs with slate/oxidized‑metal finish, dark grey.
— Side entrance: natural stone in warm rose‑sand tones.
— Canopies: tempered glass on concealed brackets; signage: individual satin‑brass letters.
— Handrails/guards: graphite finish; non‑slip stair nosings with contrast edge.

Scope and integration
Preserved column axes and canopy projections; continued the existing paving module to the stoop; added code‑compliant ramp with double handrails and tactile, non‑slip first step.

Role and tasks
Lead Architect/Designer: concept within the client’s budget, visualization package, and full technical documentation set.
