Short description
Restoration with selective reconstruction of a Soviet‑era factory block for the new MPOVT production facility in Minsk was delivered to a strict brief and on a minimal budget: full replacement of glazing, a new entrance ensemble, metal cladding renewal, and careful restoration of legacy ceramic‑tile accent zones.
Concept and vision
The aim was to give the enterprise a contemporary, tech‑driven image while preserving the pragmatism of industrial architecture and prioritizing standard, cost‑efficient solutions. A continuous ribbon of glazing strengthens the horizontal reading of the façade; a compact portal highlights the entrance; brand graphics are integrated with restraint.
Scope
— Complete replacement of windows and curtain walling on the main and side façades to improve daylighting and energy performance.
— Entrance ensemble: portal canopy, warm vestibule, bicycle parking, planted planters.
— Exterior renewal: dark profiled metal on primary planes; restoration of friezes and end walls with light‑grey ceramic tiles.
— Streamlined signage and wayfinding in the company palette.
— Local forecourt improvements and clean junctions of pavements with preservation of existing trees along the main façade.
Budget strategy
Accessible off‑the‑shelf glazing and metal‑cladding systems, minimized wet processes, and unified details reduced time and cost; visual accents are concentrated at the entrance for maximum impact within tight funds.
Role and responsibility
Lead Architect: development of the visual restoration concept, façade and entrance design, brand integration, presentation visualizations, and approvals support.
